When I started online earning, I thought Amazon means you need thousands of dollars to buy products. I was wrong. I had no money for investment, no product, no warehouse.
Then I found a simple side hustle: Amazon Virtual Assistant - Product Hunting. I made my first $50 in just 3 days with only my mobile phone. No investment, no inventory.
If you are a student or looking for a side hustle in 2026, this guide is for you.
Let me clear this up because many beginners get confused.
What is Amazon Product Hunting?
You see thousands of products on Amazon. But how does a seller know which product will sell? They need a Product Hunter.
Product Hunting is the skill of finding a winning product for an Amazon seller. A winning product is:
1. High demand (many people are searching for it)
2. Low competition (not many sellers are selling it)
3. Good profit margin
A new Amazon seller will pay you $30 to $100 just to find one good product for him. He has the money, but he doesn't have the time and skill to find the product. That is your opportunity.
I did not sell any product. I used a simple trick that still works in 2026.
How I Found My First Client Without Fiverr
I did not wait for clients on Fiverr. I found them directly.
Step 1: I went to Facebook and searched "Amazon FBA Pakistan", "Amazon Sellers UK", "Amazon Wholesale USA". I joined 10 active groups.
Step 2: I found 10 new sellers with posts like "I am new, need help to find a product" or "Looking for a product hunter".
Step 3: I messaged 3 of them on Facebook Messenger. My message was simple:
"Hello sir, I saw your post about Amazon product hunting. I am a product hunter from Peshawar. I found a gap in the market. Can I show you a free product idea with stats? No charge for the first one."
2 of them replied YES.
What I Did For Him - Just 3 Simple Steps
You don't need to be an expert. I did only 3 things.
Step 1: Completed Product Criteria 100%
I used free tools. I checked 5 points for a good product:
1. Price between $15 - $40
2. Less than 500 reviews on top 5 competitors
3. Monthly sales more than 300 units
4. Not a seasonal product, not breakable, not electronics
5. Small and lightweight
I used Amazon search bar, Google Trends (free), and Keepa free version for data.
Step 2: Added 3 Competitors Research
I gave him a simple sheet: Top 3 competitors, their price, their monthly sales, their reviews. I added screenshots. Most new VAs don't give this. Client trusted me because of proof.
Step 3: Created a One-Page Report
I made a simple report on Google Docs. Product Name, Product Image, Why this product is good? (3 reasons), Profit calculation. I used the free Amazon FBA Calculator.
Result? In 2 days, he liked my research. He said "This is exactly what I needed". He paid me $50 via Easypaisa (Payoneer). After that, he gave me $50 every month to find 2 more products. That was my first $100 in a week.
That was my first $100 in a week.
How You Can Start Today, Follow This Plan
If you want to start today, follow this plan.
Day 1-2: Learn the Skill For Free*
Go to YouTube and search "Amazon Product Hunting 2026". Watch just 2 videos by Enablers or Extreme Commerce. You will understand the criteria. That is enough. You don't need a paid course.
Day 3: Make Your Own Portfolio
Create your own sample report. Name it like "Sample Product - Kitchen Gadget for USA Market". Optimize it with real data, screenshots, profit margin. This will be your sample to show clients. Clients trust proof more than degrees.
Day 4-5: Find Your First Client
"Facebook Groups" method is the same method I used. Find new sellers. Or try:
"Instagram DM": Many small Amazon sellers have Instagram pages. They have bad products. Message them on WhatsApp or Instagram.
"Upwork": Search "Amazon Product Research". Apply to 5 jobs daily with your sample report.
Day 6-7: Deliver and Get Paid
Deliver your first free product idea to get a review. Then charge.
How Much Should You Charge?
As a beginner, charge $40 for one-time product research. And $100 per month for finding 5 products. Once you have 3 clients, you can make $300 per month. In the USA, people easily pay $150.
Why Amazon VA is Better Than Other Skills?
1. "Low Competition" On Fiverr, there are 100,000 logo designers. But only 3,000 Amazon Product Hunters. So you get clients faster.
2. "Recurring Income" Logo design is one-time. But Amazon seller needs new products every month. One client = $50 every month.
3. "No Investment" You can do everything from your phone. You don't need a laptop.
Final Words
If I can do it from Peshawar, Pakistan with just a mobile phone, you can do it from anywhere. The US, UK, and Canada market is huge and they need Pakistani VAs more.
Don't wait for the perfect time. Just optimize one product report and it will become your first portfolio.
